Link a device to your account overview

Users must enroll and link their mobile devices to their accounts before logging in using passwordless authentication methods.

If a user attempts to log in using a passwordless authentication method (QR Code, Push Notification) without having a device linked, they will see the error message below. Please note that linking a device to your account is a separate process from creating a new account.

What you will need to link a device

  • Mobile device with the BlockID Mobile Application installed

Enroll a device and link it to your account

Users can link a device to their account by clicking the enroll a device link on the error message, visiting the sign-in page, and clicking the request an invite link located beneath the QR code. Both links redirect to the same page. This article will focus on enrolling a device from the sign-in page.

      1. Navigate to your tenant sign-in page and select QR Code if you are not already seeing a QR code displayed. Click Request an invite.

      2. Enter your email address. Unless told otherwise by an administrator, leave the email option as Primary Email. Click Send Invite to send an invite to your registered email address.

      3. Using your mobile device, open the User Invitation email just sent to you. Click Register for Passwordless Authentication to open the link on your mobile device.

       4. Opening the link will launch the BlockID Mobile Application. Unlock the application using your enrolled biometrics to finish linking the device to your account.

      5. A success message will display. You can now use your device to sign in using QR Code and Push Notification passwordless authentication methods.
